50th Anniversary Fun Day
Sports Day. Well done everyone, you were all superstars!
We created our own Audio book 'If I were a Pirate.' We used our imaginations to think about what we would do if we were a pirate. We created our own drawings and then took a picture of them and recorded our voices to make our book.
Fun Run 2024. The rain didn't stop us having fun! Well done to all the boys and girls. You were all fantastic!
Every Thursday we use the iPads to complete different Literacy and Numeracy activities. Today we were learning our numbers to 20, frequency words and counting pennies.
Anyone fancy some Mud Pie? Today we enjoyed the sunny weather playing in our Mud kitchen. We had some interesting food in our Mud cafe. We had snail sandwiches, nettle soup and lots of other crazy creations!
Today we walked to the park to learn about road safety and keeping safe at the park. We practiced crossing the road safely using the traffic lights and keeping safe on the footpath. When we were at the park we had a lovely picnic together and had some play time pretending to be Pirates.
We had lots of fun being very creative making treasure chests and pirate ships using junk materials. Look at our wonderful creations!

This week we were learning football skills with Coach Lauren. We had lots of fun practising dribbling the ball and scoring goals.

Easter Fun in Year 1! Today we had an Easter Party with our friends in Nursery. We sang Easter songs and played Easter games. We have also been enjoying Easter Arts and crafts, stories and a movie in our classroom. Today we also had a surprise delivery from the Easter bunny which was very exciting.
Today we celebrated St Patrick's day. We read the story of St Patrick and then made our own shamrock wands. During play we also took part in lots of fun St Patrick's Day activities. I was so impressed with how well the children listened and remembered the story of St Patrick so please ask them to share this with you at home!
World book day 2024. We had a wonderful day celebrating world book day. We had a special assembly to show off our costumes. We had a parade with nursery in our playground and then the Year 7's came to our classroom to read to us.

We're going on a bear hunt!
Today we went on our very own bear hunt around school. Our naughty bears were hiding in different classrooms and we had to find them. We had lots of fun looking for them!
This week we became scientists and grew our own gummy bear. We couldn't believe the results. We were so excited!
This term we will be learning to code on different devices and apps. Today we were learning how to use the BeeBot - our floor robot and exploring the App "Code Karts". We had lots of fun learning how to give instructions, code and follow directions.
Christmas fun in Year 1!
Our trip to see Santa. We had a brilliant morning at the Navan Centre. We got entertained by a funny Elf, watched a Christmas show about a Snowman, made a Christmas craft and of course visited Santa who said we are all on the good list!
Today we had a visit from the Dogs Trust. We talked about how to stay safe around dogs and care for them.

Exploring Instruments
We have been learning the names of musical instruments and exploring their sounds. We created a sound story called 'The Hairy Scary Castle'. We used instruments to create sounds to match the story and then for our ICT task we learnt how to record our story using the iPad. We hope you enjoy it!

Relax kids programme
Relax kids
Every Monday morning we start off our week by taking part in the 'Relax Kids' programme. Relax Kids supports children's mental and emotional health and wellbeing with a range of tools and techniques to help calm their body and mind and build confidence and self-esteem. We all really enjoy our weekly sessions with Mary.
Today we finished off our Numeracy topic on Patterns and Sorting using Marshmallows! We counted them, sorted them for colour and made our own patterns! As we done so well of course we were allowed to eat them at the end ��
European Day of Languages 2023. Today we celebrated all the different Languages we can speak in our class. Did you know there are 6 different languages spoken in Year 1? We learnt how to say Hello in different languages and then watched Peppa Pig in 5 different Languages. We finished off our day with some super colouring in.
