Useful Information

Ballyoran Primary School has a two class Nursery Unit, each class has 26 children, a teacher and a nursery assistant.

In Ballyoran Nursery, staff plan the indoor and outdoor curriculum to develop the children’s 6 areas of learning:

  1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development

  2. Language Development

  3. Physical Development and Movement

  4. The Arts

  5. Early Mathematical Development

  6. The World Around Us

The Nursery builds the bridge between the parent, dependence of the toddler and the relative independence of the primary child.

The Nursery Unit is an integral part of the Primary School and is connected to the main building but has its own dedicated entrance for parents.  The bright, spacious and well resourced playrooms have their own toilets, quiet rooms and stores and have interactive whiteboards.

We have a well equipped outdoor play area which includes towers, slides, see-saws, playhouse, covered sandpit, garden, stage, chalkboards and a covered play area.

Ballyoran Nursery works closely with the ‘Blossom Sure Start Team’ a support network we value immensely.
