Choir and Instrumental Group
Music has an important part in the life of Ballyoran Primary School where pupils are encouraged to participate in an expanding range of musical activities; making their own music, listening to a variety of music and performing music.
We have a strong choir from Year 4 -Year 7 which rehearses weekly with Mrs McCreesh-West on Thursday afternoons from 3.00 – 3.45pm.
We have a three-part (descant, alto and treble) recorder ensemble comprising of upper Key Stage 2 pupils. In addition, music tuition for upper strings and woodwind is provided by the SELB. Music Service and pupils of a sufficient ability join the instrumental ensemble to perform a variety of music.
Our choir and instrumental ensembles perform annually at local Shopping Centres and Nursing Homes during the Christmas period, and provide liturgical music for Confirmation and First Communion Masses.
