Invitation to Social Networking Safety Evening

Social Networking has been identified as a priority within the Local Policing Plan for Craigavon and Craigavon Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) Action Plan 2013-15 regarding the consequences and dangers for young people using this technology.

Craigavon PCSP are in the process of organising an event for both young people and parents/carers regarding this issue which will now take place on Tuesday 28th January 2014 at St Anthony’s Hall, Craigavon from 7pm -  invitation attached.  The event has been organised in partnership with various organisations including PSNI, SELB Youth Service and Craigavon Borough Council.

The message for the evening is ‘Be careful online! People aren’t always what they seem...’ and will provide informative presentations, videos, scenarios and workshops to help illustrate the dangers that young people can face online and how to make sure they keep personal information personal.

‘Set the scene’ awareness videos will be shown, Moyraverty Amateur Dramatics Society (MADS) will perform a short play on scenarios that can happen all too easily, the PSNI will host an interactive workshop to help educate young people on how to avoid certain situations and an inspirational speaker will give further expert advice.
