Ballyoran Primary School was officially opened on 3rd September 1974 by Canon FW Gowing, Chairman of the Southern Education and Library Board. The school which was a modern design for the time was to replace local smaller schools such as Park Road. The building design was unique to the Craigavon area and is exactly the same as two other local primary schools - Drumgor and Tullygally. The layout of the building remained largely unchanged until a major refurbishment took place in 2012 which transformed the accommodation.
