Ballyoran Goes For Green!

Ballyoran Primary School are currently working towards achieving the Green Award with the Eco-Schools programme. The ‘Eco Club,’ made up of children in the school, recently organised and held an ‘Eco-Day’ for the whole school to help the children learn about our environment. All children came to school dressed in green and took part in various projects involving making something new from something old to raise awareness of recycling. They also planted vegetables in the school Eco Garden with the help of staff from Oxford Island and others worked with artist Jim Russell to create junk sculptures. Children also brought in old clothes to be recycled through the ‘Cash for Clobber’ scheme. The day was very successful and enjoyed by all.
