School Receives Young Enterprise Centre of Excellence Award

Ballyoran Primary School receives Young Enterprise Centre of Excellence Award

Adrian Farrell, President of the Portadown Chamber of Commerce presented the Young Enterprise Northern Ireland special award to Ballyoran Primary School, for promoting enterprise and entrepreneurship in the school.

Helen Fitzpatrick, Development Officer for Young Enterprise’s Southern Region, commented: ‘Ballyoran Primary School has been working with Young Enterprise for many years, to promote business and enterprise to pupils, in order to help them develop skills and qualities which will undoubtedly help them in their future careers.

‘This award recognises the fact that the school has facilitated a large amount of Young Enterprise business programmes over a considerable number of years, in partnership with business leaders from the local community.

‘All Young Enterprise Programmes complement the new NI Curriculum, which challenges schools to add value to students’ learning experience, and they thoroughly deserve this recognition.

We are delighted to present this Centre of Excellence Award to Ballyoran Primary School, and look forward to working with them in partnership for many years to come.’

On receipt of the award, Mr Woolsey, school principal commented; “We are delighted to have received this award, we are very proud of the links we have developed over the years with Young Enterprise and would like to thank Adrian for presenting us with the award. We would also like to thank the local business volunteers who have helped deliver the programmes namely Eileen Carville (Moy Park), Ilish Farrell (Moy Park), Mary Daly (Moy Park), Mary Brannigan (Moy Park) and Sean Bingham (Kellogg’s).”
