Year 5 Titanic Enthusiasts

Year 5 pupils have been learning about the Titanic as part of The World Around Us. They have been exploring the facts, opinions and myths surrounding this ever relevant and well known story. The two most interesting facts which they researched were the lookouts in the crow's nest did not have binoculars and that two dogs were among the Titanic survivors.

They have creatively and imaginatively designed and built their own models of the doomed ship which took its maiden voyage on 10th April 1912 and met its fate on April 15th 1912.

The pupils' models of different sizes, were constructed using a variety of materials: metal, wood, plaster of paris and cardboard. It was a three week task which was undertaken at home with parental support.
