Well done again to everyone who made a world landmark project. We had the TOUGHEST time picking winners for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! Year 3 got to show off their amazing projects in assembly today and receive their certificates and prizes. What STARS you all are!
Year 3 had fun during our activity based learning this week. We had some super researchers who learnt all about the country of India and taught us their funky facts. We had landmarks made out of Lego and building blocks. We had flags from the around the world. It was busy!
We have been so busy in Year 3 over the last two weeks learning all about Asia. We studied the landmark Taj Mahal and made some beautiful art pieces with the Taj Mahal on a warm colour or cool colour background. Have a look at the process and the finished products below.
This week we took a look at a landmark in Belfast. We learnt all about The Big Fish. We discussed the shades, tones and mosaic pattern. When we took a closer look we saw some pictures on the ceramic tiles. After doing our researched we found out that on the ceramic tiles there are pictures of events throughout history in Northern Ireland. We worked together to write facts about the iconic landmark and we created our own ‘Big Fish’.
Ice lollies in the sunshine... yes please! A well earned treat after assessment fortnight!
When Year 3 got the task of creating their own landmark projects, I couldn’t have ever predicted how outstanding they would be! Year 3 completely out done themselves with these master pieces! What superstars we have! Take a look at our All Around the World landmarks...
What a great day to go to the park for Golden Time! The sun was shining and we were smiling! Happy Friday from Year 3!
We got to enjoy the sunshine today by planting some lovely spring flowers in the eco garden. We dug a hole in the soil, put the flowers in, covered it back over and then watered our flowers beds.
Today we learnt about right angles. We went on a right angle hunt firstly around our classroom and then around the school. We found SO many right angles!
This week we started our new World Around Us topic ‘All Around the World’. Take a look at some of the activities we have done!
