Year 1Bi

This week in numeracy we have been learning all about the number 6 and counting sets to 6!

Christmas party day

What a busy day! Today we took part in the 'Daily Mile Santa Run' and enjoyed our Christmas dinner.

Ditch the dark day

Our Christmas Trip to the Navan Centre. We had a brilliant day today visiting Santa at the Navan Centre. Our trip began with a Christmas show about an Elf who lost all the Christmas presents. Next we visited Santa and told him what we would like for Christmas. He gave us all a selection box and told us that we are all on the nice list this year. We then made a Christmas decoration and had our lunch before getting the bus back to school.

What a fantastic day we all had today at our ‘castles, kings and queens’ day. We began our day dressing up as knights and princesses. We then went on a quick trip to Disneyland and when we came back had a banquet with lots of tasty fruit! After break we got a special video message from ‘Queen B’ we had to make some buns for her and some shields for her knights. We were all tired after all our hard work so we finished our day watching Zog and eating our nice buns.

We are all enjoying our new basketball net and scooters outside!

Money money money! We really enjoyed learning about different coins and counting pennies!

We supported Children in Need by wearing spotty clothes and having crazy hair. Do you like our crowns we made?

This week in relax kids we were learning all about what makes us happy. What a lovely start to our week!

Every Monday Year 1 will be taking part in ‘relax kids’. Relax Kids supports your children’s mental and emotional health and wellbeing with a range of tools and techniques to help calm their body and mind and build confidence and self-esteem

Number Fun! We have now covered numbers 1,2 and 3. We can count, recognise and write our numbers and had fun playing games with Numicon and making sets inside and outside!

Exploring the outdoors. We love taking our learning outside in Year 1 each week.

A busy week in Year 1. We have been learning to sort and make patterns in Numeracy as well as the number 1. We had fun reciting ‘The queen of hearts’ rhyme as we begin our castles topic and we have had lots of fun learning through play both inside and outside!

We have been working very hard developing our fine motor skills.

Having lots of fun.. Our first week of school
