Year 1 Trip - Scallywags. We had lots of fun today playing with our friends. A lovely way to end our Year!
Through our ‘growing’ topic we have been watching caterpillars grow and form cocoons before hatching into butterflies. Today we got to release them in our Eco Garden.

Easter fun in Year 1! We have been such good boys and girls the Easter bunny left us some treats in the playground!
Today we got to go to the ICT suite to complete some numeracy and phonics activities. We will be going here a lot more in Term 3 and learning how to use the computer and mouse.
World Book Day 2022. We had a great day in our wonderful costumes, well done everyone!
We had lots of fun on Pancake Day!
We wore red for 'Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke' and were busy making Valentines Day buns and cards.

Outdoor Play
We are learning all about Bears. We looked at pictures of different types of bears and then picked our favourite bear to draw. Mrs Biggerstaff was really impressed with our drawings!
This week in numeracy we have been learning all about the number 6 and counting sets to 6!
Christmas party day
What a busy day! Today we took part in the 'Daily Mile Santa Run' and enjoyed our Christmas dinner.
Ditch the dark day
Our Christmas Trip to the Navan Centre. We had a brilliant day today visiting Santa at the Navan Centre. Our trip began with a Christmas show about an Elf who lost all the Christmas presents. Next we visited Santa and told him what we would like for Christmas. He gave us all a selection box and told us that we are all on the nice list this year. We then made a Christmas decoration and had our lunch before getting the bus back to school.
What a fantastic day we all had today at our ‘castles, kings and queens’ day. We began our day dressing up as knights and princesses. We then went on a quick trip to Disneyland and when we came back had a banquet with lots of tasty fruit! After break we got a special video message from ‘Queen B’ we had to make some buns for her and some shields for her knights. We were all tired after all our hard work so we finished our day watching Zog and eating our nice buns.
We are all enjoying our new basketball net and scooters outside!
Money money money! We really enjoyed learning about different coins and counting pennies!
We supported Children in Need by wearing spotty clothes and having crazy hair. Do you like our crowns we made?
This week in relax kids we were learning all about what makes us happy. What a lovely start to our week!
We have had lots of Halloween fun this week before we finish for our well earned break. Well done everyone you have worked so hard and are doing so well in a year 1!

Number Fun! We have now covered numbers 1,2 and 3. We can count, recognise and write our numbers and had fun playing games with Numicon and making sets inside and outside!
Exploring the outdoors. We love taking our learning outside in Year 1 each week.
A busy week in Year 1. We have been learning to sort and make patterns in Numeracy as well as the number 1. We had fun reciting ‘The queen of hearts’ rhyme as we begin our castles topic and we have had lots of fun learning through play both inside and outside!
We have been working very hard developing our fine motor skills.
