Year 5 A
We made pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. It was lots of fun!
We created Sea Life Art from recycled bottle lids. Take a look!
We had a visit from the Dairy Council. They talked about living a healthy, balanced lifestyle and the importance of eating some dairy foods. We had fun learning a rap with actions.
We have been enjoying acting out play scripts in class.
A big thank you to Sustrans for providing every pupil in the school with a Hi Vis Jacket. We love them!
In Numeracy, we have been looking at shapes that tessellate. We then went outside to find shapes and objects that tessellate.
In Numeracy, we have been creating Tangams. We created lots of different patterns and pictures.
We enjoyed the lovely Christmas dinner today at school.
In ICT, we have been learning how to code. After several lessons, we have created a game for others to play. We have had lots of fun coding!
We have been learning about instructional texts in Literacy. Miss Abraham brought in some recipe books and we found some of the main features of instructional texts. We will be creating our own instructions soon!
Our class thoroughly enjoyed Ditch the Dark Day. Dave from Sustrans came to our class and carried out an experiment entitled 'Visibility Experiment'. It was lots of fun!
Our class enjoyed the Bun Sale at school for children in Need.
We created Pudsy hats for Children in Need.
Both Year 5 classes enjoyed a visit from MAC. We created art from recycled water bottles. Take a look at the results!

We enjoyed a visit from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. They taught us how to keep safe from fires. However, they had to rush off to an emergency!
In Numeracy, we have been learning about capacity.
Year 5 enjoyed a visit from Cancer Focus. They taught us how to protect ourselves from the sun.
In Numeracy, we have been learning about weight. We are able to weigh objects and read the scales in g/kg to find out the weight.
We enjoyed a visit from the author Wes Magee and together created a poem about birds. We feel really inspired and can't wait to write our own!

We used the leaves that we collected from the park to do some printing with paint.
We went to the park and created some leaf art. We also collected leaves and twigs for school. Look at our lovely results!
We enjoyed taking part in Joe Wicks' fitness week. It was lots of fun (and hard work)!
