During our trip to the People's Park we enjoyed a 'Scavenger Hunt'. We collected items and had fun creating with them in class.
Our End of Year Trip. We all had a great time at Lisburn Omniplex, watching 'Sherlock Gnomes' and afterwards we enjoyed bowling at Lisburn Bowl!

Year 6 have been very busy exploring the topic of 'The Vikings'. We have made our own Viking 'game pieces' and 'brooches'.
In Year 6 as part of our PDMU, we have been thinking about conflict - how we can avoid it and resolve it. We paired up to make a poster to share our messages. Then we presented these to the class.
Literacy - Stories from another culture. As part of our literacy work on 'stories from another culture' we studied nouns. The children were given five nouns, they had to write sentences that would link the words together, creating a short narrative. It was great fun.
Moy Park Challenge at the Seagoe Hotel. We were invited by Moy Park and Young Enterprise to attend a challenge day. We were asked to design and make a creature which promoted the ethos of Healthy Living and Enterprise. There were some brilliant ideas! The second challenge was to think of a new product and a buisness plan to sell it. We had great fun working with children from two other local schools.
Multicultural Celebration Day at St John the Baptist College.
Big Workout Day
Our trip to the BEE SAFE event in Brownstow Community centre was a great learning experience for us all. We learnt about kitchen safety, had a talk from fire officers about S.T.O.P and listened to a bus driver speaking about the importance of being safe on a bus. We also listened to the PSNI and a lady from NI Electricity.
Shared Education with Bocombra. We are enjoying our Shared Education Programme, which is, based upon the theme of Basketball. During our first two sessions we have enjoyed learning new ball skills and we have explored the importance of diversity and respect.
World Book Day was brilliant fun in Year 6. The costumes were fabulous! We enjoyed listening to an audio story, completing 'Character Selfies', Book Wordsearches and Character Profiles. We particularly enjoyed story telling using 'Story Sparkers!'
In Art, we learned about the creation of Pointillism and looked at the work of George Seurat. We then linked this to our WAU topic which is Europe and created these stunning Eiffel Tower pictures using the Pointillism technique.
Practical Numeracy in Year 6.

We had a non-uniform day to raise money for BBC Children in Need. We came to school with mad hair and wore spots. It was great fun and, most importantly, we raised lots of money for this very special charity.

What's in a name?
We have enjoyed doing some creative writing based on our class novel 'The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips'.
Well done to our new Pupil Council representatives. All potential candidates had to make a speech to the class to say why they would make a good Pupil Council member. Well done to everyone who put themselves forward for voting.
