  • Mrs Mackle Retires

    Mrs Mackle will be retiring at the end of August after 39 years service at Ballyoran Primary

    School. Approximately 30 of those 39 years have been spent teaching Year 1. Mrs

    Mackle is very well known and respected in the local community and is the longest serving

    member of staff in the school, Mrs Mackle has taught many pupils, including parents of

    current pupils. As a school community we thank Mrs Mackle for all that she has given to

    the school over these past 4 decades, we thank her for her hard work, commitment and

    dedication to this school and most importantly to the pupils of this school, who have

    always been her number one priority. We wish her a very long and happy retirement.

     

  • Mrs Culbert Retires

    We say farewell to Helen Culbert who has retired from our school kitchen after 13 years.  We thank her for her service to the school and wish her a long and happy retirement.
  • Prize Day 2019

    Friday 21st June 2019 was our Annual Prize Day; which is now a very important event in our School Calendar.  The Foundation Stage/Key Stage 1 Prize Giving was first at 9.30am.  After refreshments, came the Key Stage 2 Prize Giving.  Rev Canon Campbell who retired as a member of the Board of Governors this year was Special Guest at both ceremonies.  Pupils are to be congratulated on their successes and achievements.  A list of the main Award Winners has been included in this News Sheet.

  • Pupil Council Visit Civic Centre

    The Pupil Council visited Craigavon Civic Centre on Monday 17th June 2019 with Miss Nelson.  During the visit, pupils got to meet the Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Tinsley and they also got a tour of the Council Chamber.
  • New School Mascot

    Congratulations to one of our Year 3 pupils whose design was chosen by the Pupil Council to be used as our school mascot as part of a competition. Barney the Ballyoran Owl is our new school mascot and will represent our school on trips and at different events throughout the year. One of the reasons that the Pupil Council chose an owl as mascot was because it represents wisdom.  As a school we want all of our pupils to be wise and make wise decisions as they go through their lives.  Our new Mascot will remind us to do this.
  • Eco Schools Green Flag Reassessment

    Congratulations to the Eco-Committee who have recently renewed their Green Flag status as an Eco School. The Eco-Committee worked really hard throughout the year to achieve this award. They have been busy gardening, litter picking, painting, leading assemblies, taking surveys and much more. Well done to all involved!

  • New Word Millionaires

    Congratulations to our Year 7 pupil who received his THIRD Millionaire Accelerated Reader certificate and prize in assembly.

    Also, congratulations to another Year 7 pupil who received his first Millionaire Accelerated Reader certificate and prize in assembly this morning.
