National Numeracy Day
Today is National Numeracy Day. A special website has been set up www.numeracyday.com with a variety of video clips, activities for parents and children. The timetable is ongoing throughout the day but the clips don’t have to be watched live. They include stories read by Lauren Child (author of Charlie and Lola), The Maths Factor with Carol Vorderman, Money and Maths with Martin Lewis (Money Saving Expert), helping your child with maths, How to Improve your Maths Skills with Rachel Riley (the Countdown presenter) and several people talking about how they use Numeracy in their day-to-day jobs.
There is something on the website for everyone. Try to include one Numeracy activity today, whether it is a website, counting with your child, Mathletics or anything else that involves Numeracy.
Parents of Yr 6 pupils who are considering entering their child to do the Transfer Test should note that the process has been delayed due to the current crisis. Please log on to the following website for more information: https://www.thetransfertest.com/
